DOMESTIC FLIGHTSThe route Athens-Kefalonia is daily covered by the airline company Olympic Air (www.olympicair.com).Flight time approximately 1 hour and in high season there are 2 flights per day. The routes Kefalonia-Zakynthos and Kefalonia-Preveza (Lefkas) are covered by the airline company Sky Express (www.skyexpress.gr). Flight time about 30 minutes and there are 2 times per week (Friday and Sunday for Preveza, Thursday and Saturday for Zakynthos). Further more during the summer period Kefalonia is directly connected to many European cities with charter flights. Kefalonia Airport is 8 km from the town and can be reached by taxi, bus or private vehicles. Inside offers a variety of services for passengers such as bars, banks, travel agencies, car rentals, tourist information office, police and large parking outside. From Italy, with departures from the harbours of Venice, Trieste, Ancona, Bari and Brindisi, you can reach Patras by ferryboat. Some of the shipping companies that cover this route are Minoan, Red Star Ferries, Anek, Superfast, Grimaldi, Ventouris. From Patras proceed for 60 km along the New National Road via Pyrghos to the coast town of Killini. From Killini there are ferry boats leaving to Kefalonia and the the trip duration is about 1 hour and a half. From Athens to Patras, with departure from the extra-urban bus station in Kifissou 100 street and arrival at the port of Patras, the trip takes 2 hours and half (213 km). There are buses every 30/45 minutes.
Then there is the ferry-boat from Patras to Kefalonia (Sami).
From Athens to Killini, with departure from the extra-urban bus station in Kifissou 100 street and arrival at the port of Killini, located on the northwest coast of the Peloponnese, the trip takes 3 hours (286 km).
Then there is the ferry-boat from Killini to Kefalonia (Poros).
